Meet the Author

Emily Sheehan

I am an educator and have worked with children on the spectrum for the past 12 years. I have worked with individuals on the spectrum of all ages from from 1-21 and have taught in the roles of therapist and teacher in a variety of settings including: daycares, schools and home therapy programs. I have seen first hand, time and time again, the transformation an individual on the spectrum undergoes with the proper teaching. The students that have been most successful are the ones who have parents and caregivers who are fully involved in their son or daughters education. It is from this experience that I realized my passion for empowering parents and caregivers. My goal is to shed light on a topic where parents and caregivers often feel left in the dark. I hold a graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science and a Masters degree in Education: Curriculum and Instruction.
